2/5/2015 0 Comments February 05th, 2015Day Four- Thursday, February 5, 2015 (we skipped day 4 because I wasn't here!) Today, your challenge is to create a pattern using only 4 colors. I have been thinking about which four colors would make a fun, great pattern? I am trying to decide between my favorite colors or colors that would make a great pattern. Which will you choose?

2/3/2015 0 Comments 2.3- Candy JarDay Two- Tuesday, February 3, 2015 doodle challenge is to fill these jars of candy with your favorite candy. Did you know that Mrs. McLeod LOVES candy??? I love Sour Patch Kids, Cherry Sours, Red Jelly Bellys, Sour Jelly Bellys, Harbio Rasberries and Blackberries & Mike & Ikes. It is shameful, really. How will I decide what to fill my candy jars with?? What be inside your candy jar? I can't wait to see. You can print the picture here, get one from me in class or design your own candy jars in your sketchbook or separate piece of paper. Have fun!

2/2/2015 0 Comments Doodle-A-DayMy students are really interested in the doodling movement. I have been reading Sunni Brown’s book The Doodle Revolution and I have shared how doodling can be connected to learning ( see this short TED Talk by Sunni Brown on her webpage). I have noticed that my students are just doodling, which is a good start, but it isn’t connected to learning or how they can help process information or even how to better commit new information to their working memory. This is something I am still learning about, but in the mean time, I thought my students and I might take the month of February to do a Doodle-A-Day to try and focus our creativity a little bit. To keep it fun, I picked up this book at Half Priced Books this weekend to help give us our prompts. I also am going to link this blog post to help everyone get their supplies ready and to have some tips to think about as we start this adventure.
This will not be a mandatory adventure, this is a just for fun challenge! |
