Curiousities
One of the Gifted and Talented Professional resources I use, is Ian Byrd's blog. I learn new things here all the time and have used man of his projects in class or with classroom teachers. One of his blog posts is about building curiosity in students, which he then sends out weekly puzzlements to help build and stretch curiosity. To introduce this idea to the students, I used the video to the left. It is truly amazing. I have seen this video over a dozen times and it just doesn't get old. Since then, I have shown students different curiosities from the puzzlements and a lot of times I try to link it to something they are studying. I have found some interesting curiosities about bridges. Now, I have students asking for them. I thought this might be a great place to post links to the curiosities from class so that if they children want to show you or build on their knowledge about these thoughts, they would have a place to find them.
I hope you become curious! |
